Eastern Bluebird, Fabric art Collage with Thread Painting
The drawing of this Eastern Bluebird took extra time as I experimented on its shape and coloring, especially the shading areas along with those needing a hint of light. Once the magic of all the fabric combinations and , layering applications are done and the transformation is complete, the next step is deciding on the background.
For this art piece, I created the tree branches by utilizing an upholstery to which I added some thread painting to emphasize a bark texture. The fabric used for the background is from an upcycled stash .
The final step in completing the art piece is to utilize a thread painting technique, layering the stitching and filling in shapes and motifs to further embellish and apply shading where needed.
