This beautiful raccoon fabric art collage was created using various applications of layers of fabric in different shapes/sizes/textures/tints bringing life to the layers of his young fur.
It is natural that there is movement from the original drawing concept as I allow the fabric to influence my positioning during the defining process.
For this art piece, I utilized an existing fall forest scene and added various branches/leaves to emphasise his hiding techniques within a woodsy environment.
The final step in completing the art piece is utilize a thread painting technique, layering the stitching and filling in shapes and motifs to further embellish and apply shading where needed.
This art piece is stretched over a 11x14 inch canvas within a floating oak wood frame.
